No, Red Brick Legacy is an LLC. Recent IRS rules have disallowed tax-exempt or 501(c)(3) status for NIL collectives.

An NIL organization established to gather financial contributions for a shared objective. In Red Brick Legacy’s case, we are an organization formed to unite Miami University fans, alumni, and donors to provide NIL opportunities for student-athletes.

Because Red Brick Legacy does not have 501(c)(3) status, then any contributions you make will not be tax deductible on the federal level.

100% of donations made through our website and every corporate financial commitment are directed to the general fund or specific sport you choose that supports NIL initiatives for Miami University student-athletes. Additionally, we maintain reserves to assist incoming freshmen and future Redhawks classes.

Cradle of Coaches

Throughout the sports world, Miami has the unique reputation as the “Cradle of Coaches.” Legendary football coaches such as Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Ara Parseghian, Weeb Ewbank, Paul Brown and Sid Gillman all had roots at Miami, and the impact they left on the college football landscape can still be felt today.

Paul Brown

Miami: 1927-1930

Paul Brown was an innovative football coach and executive, known for founding both the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals. He introduced numerous innovations to the game, including the modern face mask and the practice squad. Brown’s teams won multiple championships, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967.

Leann Grimes Davidge - Tennis Coach

Leann Grimes Davidge

Women’s Tennis Coach: 1979-1985

Leann Grimes Davidge was a highly respected tennis coach and player, known for her remarkable achievements both on and off the court. She led the Miami University women’s tennis team to four consecutive Mid-American Conference (MAC) championships. Davidge was the first woman inducted into Miami University’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986. Tragically, she lost her life in a car accident at the age of 29 while on a recruiting trip.

John Harbaugh - Football Coach

John Harbaugh

Miami: 1980-1984

John Harbaugh is the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, recognized for his leadership and consistency. He led the Ravens to a Super Bowl XLVII victory and has the most road playoff wins by any head coach in NFL history. Harbaugh’s tenure with the Ravens includes multiple playoff appearances and division titles. He was named AP NFL Coach of the Year in 2019.

Sean McVay - Football Coach

Sean McVay

Miami: 2004-2007

Sean McVay is the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, known for being the youngest head coach in modern NFL history. He led the Rams to two Super Bowl appearances, winning Super Bowl LVI. McVay’s innovative offensive strategies have made him one of the most influential coaches in the NFL. He was named AP NFL Coach of the Year in 2017.
